AndroidMic
Use an Android phone as a microphone for a computer through a desktop receiver and a configured virtual audio device.
About this project
AndroidMic sends audio from an Android phone to a computer receiver. The desktop application supports Windows, macOS and Linux, with Wi-Fi TCP/UDP, USB Serial and USB ADB connection options. Its controls include noise cancellation, an audio waveform and adjustable audio formats. Bluetooth is no longer supported.
The stable release provides an Android APK, Windows installers, a Linux AppImage and macOS disk images. The release instructions describe installing the phone APK and the package for the computer operating system. These are ready-made application downloads rather than a requirement to compile the receiver from source.
The computer must also have a virtual audio device. For Wi-Fi, the phone and computer share a network and the phone needs the PC address and port. USB ADB additionally needs debugging; USB Serial can require driver or Linux permission changes. Setup is more involved than installing a single microphone app.

Why it is worth a look
- Reuses a phone microphone for computer calls or recording
- Provides ready-made Android and desktop downloads
- Offers wireless and wired connection choices
Before you use it
- A virtual audio device is mandatory; install or configure one separately
- Wi-Fi setup needs the computer IP address and port on a shared network
- USB ADB needs developer mode and debugging; USB Serial may need driver changes
- Do not dismiss an operating-system security alert solely because the README calls it a false positive
