About this project

Auto-Editor automates the first pass through audio and video. Its command-line editing rules identify sections using audio loudness, motion, or combinations of methods, then decide which sections to keep, cut or speed up. Margins can retain a little surrounding silence so a cut does not land exactly on a detected boundary.

The documented user path is to download a release binary for Windows, macOS or Linux and run it from a terminal against a local media file. macOS also has a Homebrew path. The output can be rendered media, individual clips, or a timeline for editors including Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, Shotcut and Kdenlive.

The repository source is under the Unlicense. Distributed binaries may contain components with their own open-source licenses, while assets exclusive to the separate website or graphical application have proprietary terms. This listing covers the documented repository command-line tool; it does not extend that source license to the separate graphical product.

Source labels distinguish recommendations, neutral mentions and the author’s own releases. Commercial relationships are unknown unless an author relationship is shown. Worthary reviews project eligibility separately.
