OBS Studio
Record screens, combine cameras and audio, and use multiple scenes for recording or streaming.
About this project
OBS Studio records video and produces live streams using scenes assembled from sources. A scene can combine windows, screens, cameras, capture cards, images, text, and browser content. Users prepare several scenes and switch between them during production. Audio is captured and mixed in the same environment, forming a live audiovisual workflow. Sources remain separately configurable within scenes.
The audio mixer offers per-source filters such as noise suppression, gain, and noise gates, with VST support. Transitions connect scenes, and hotkeys control actions such as recording, switching, and muting. Studio Mode previews changes before sending them to the output. Rearrangeable panels, plugins, and scripting interfaces provide further customization of the production environment.
The setup wizard considers recording or streaming goals, hardware, and network conditions. The official guide then asks users to add sources, check audio devices, and make a short test recording. Source availability differs by platform: the guide identifies Game Capture as Windows-only. Actual output depends on the selected sources and settings, which still require testing.
