Open Steps
A plain-language skills pack for AI coding agents, covering session reports, questions, steps and claim checking.
About this project
Open Steps is a skills pack for Claude Code, Codex CLI, Cursor CLI and Gemini CLI. Its instructions organize completion reports, questions, user steps, risk review and claim checking in plain language. It also maintains a project overview and backlog so the person supervising an agent can follow the work without decoding technical shorthand.
Installation depends on the host: the README documents plugin installation or copying skills, then adding a routing block and the relevant hook configuration. Some checks can use the GitHub CLI; when that evidence is unavailable, the instructions call for an unverified result rather than invented verification. The operating-system path follows the selected host and shell environment.
The pack uses MIT licensing. Its current workflow can merge a pull request after checks and review pass, subject to the host's permission settings and the user's standing instructions. That automation is a real behavior to inspect before installation, and the README's own trigger measurements are author-reported results rather than an independent guarantee.
