Youtube-clipper-skill
YouTube Clipper Skill coordinates downloading, chapter analysis, clipping, subtitle translation/burning, and summaries through Claude Code.
About this project
YouTube Clipper Skill coordinates a video-clipping workflow through Claude Code. It downloads the selected video and subtitles, uses the agent to identify semantic chapters, lets the user choose segments, and processes clips with FFmpeg. Optional outputs include translated bilingual subtitles, burned-in captions and content summaries.
Installation uses npx skills add or the repository's installation script. The documented prerequisites are Python 3.8 or later, yt-dlp and FFmpeg with libass for subtitle burning, with macOS and Ubuntu examples. The manual script copies the skill, installs Python dependencies and checks system tools; complete Windows compatibility is not independently established.
The skill code is MIT-licensed, but that permission does not grant rights to download, reuse or distribute a video or its music. Agent token costs and any services are separate. Translation and chapter selection also need editorial review, and the README's efficiency comparisons are not a measured guarantee for this installation.
