A graphical client for managing BitTorrent downloads and uploads.
View project →A BitTorrent client with desktop, web and command line interfaces.
Deluge is a BitTorrent application built around a daemon and client model. The daemon performs the underlying work, with libtorrent handling the BitTorrent protocol, while user interfaces provide the controls. These components can be started separately, so the service doing the transfers and the interface used to operate it are distinct parts of the application.
Available interfaces include GTK, a web interface and a console interface. They provide desktop, browser and text based entry points respectively. The repository also links a thin client guide for connecting to the daemon from another computer. Choosing an interface therefore determines how the user reaches the service, rather than replacing the underlying transfer implementation.
The official documentation separates GTK use, running Deluge as a service and developer interfaces into their own sections. It includes references for the Web UI, RPC and Web API. Desktop interaction, a persistent background service and programmatic integration consequently have different documentation paths, and configuration or integration work follows the components selected for the particular setup.
Use an officially listed operating system and architecture; Have application installation permissions and sufficient local storage; Some requirements have not been verified. Check the official setup instructions.
