Notesnook is a note-taking application for computers, phones, and browsers. Notes, notebooks, tags, and links provide its main organizational structure. The official site describes encrypting notes before they leave the device for synchronization. Users can continue writing across devices while preserving relationships between entries through links and references back to connected notes.
The editor supports tables, checklists, code blocks, mathematics, outlines, images, attachments, and Markdown. A web clipper saves articles for offline reading. Individual notes can be published as pages, optionally protected by a password. App locking and the separate Vault feature provide different access controls, while reminders can be attached to notes and repeated on a schedule.
Clients cover Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, iOS, and the web. Free and paid plans differ in storage and features. Client applications, synchronization server code, and an importer are published separately. The current site still lists self-hosting the sync server as work in progress; code availability alone should not be read as identical readiness across every deployment path.
